About us

Welcome to the

Beulah Church Of God 7th Day

On August 8, 1998, with 33 perspective members and well-wishers the Beulah Church of God Seventh Day Evangelical was formed at 1280 Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn NY.

Our first Sabbath school came to life with superintendent Bro David Palmer and Sis Wendy Meikle as secretary. The lesson was taught by Bro Joseph Whyte and the first sermon was delivered by Pastor Rainford Palmer and from that first Sabbath, we never looked back. On our second Sabbath, Pastor Goffe from Jamaica visited and preached the very text used in the first message (Joshua 5:1-15) indicating that Yahweh was up to do something big among us.

The church grew numerically by transfer, biological and conversion. As a result of the rapid growth and inadequate worship space we began our search for a new worship space. In June 2002 we closed the deal on this property at 1405 Utica Avenue and after excessive repairs and remodeling, we moved in March 28, 2003. Where will we be another five (5) or ten (10) years from today? Where will our young people and leaders take us? What is our mission and vision for the future? Is there a plan for future growth and how will we ascertain growth in this hostile climate? Can the church be culturally relevant and spiritually engaged in the society where the image of Christ is being stumped on and the wrong doers are cheered on by leading professors of colleges?

The church must not lose its identity in a changing world filled with hatred for everything moral and virtuous. The church must stand for justice and truth. What is justice? Justice is a set of standards known to society. Such standards are in place to guide humanity in the way of God’s divine standard. Justice calls for uprightness in one’s social, economic and spiritual life both private and public.

The life of our church is guided by three statements:
  • Our Purpose:

Beulah Church of God 7th Day endeavors to carry out the Great Commission by disciplining people for the Lord Jesus Christ through evangelism and instruction from the Word of God.

  • Our Vision :

A vision to seek and save the lost, a commitment to build ourselves and community. Seeking God first, educating, developing, and training men and women for the gospel field.

  • Our Journey

Our Journey is to Know, Love and Serve God.

“To reach people with the life-giving message of Jesus that they might become fully devoted followers of Christ.”

Senior Pastor Mark Gordon

We filter every idea, program, and budget request through our purpose statement. If what we plan doesn’t help us meet our purpose, then we don’t do it. Our statement of purpose is based on two teachings of Jesus:

Jesus replied: “ ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

MATTHEW 22:36-40 NIV

He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will accompany those who believe…” Then the disciples went out and preached everywhere, and the Lord worked with them and confirmed his word by the signs that accompanied it.

Mark 16:15-17, 20 NIV
